I was doing some research on SEO for Insightful Accountant and came across a QuickBooks Support page and was reminded that QuickBooks Online has keyboard shortcuts that are designed to save you time and effort by speeding up navigation. Most of our readers probably know this already, but I wonder how many actually use them? Here’s a list of the shortcuts available in QBO as of September 29, 2021 (from the QuickBooks Support Page). If you know of any others, please add them in the comments section below.
Using shortcuts you are able to:
- Open a second window
- Search of text in a window
- Enter Dates
- Select a transaction type in an account register
- Save or edit a selected transaction
- Move between transactions within the register – selecting the date field
- Calculate amounts and rates
- Move around fields in most forms
- Choose items in drop-down lists
- Choose items in a list with sub-items
- Save Forms
- Respond to messages
- Adjust print alignment
- Move around journal entries
Most of these shortcuts are available in Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome, and are available for both PC and Mac. Best of all, you can access the quick reference guide within QBO by pressing <CTRL>+Option<ALT>+? (Mac).
