Hector Garcia, CPA shows you how purchase orders work in QuickBooks Online Plus and how to do NEW partial receiving. QuickBooks Online users can link a bill, check or expense to a portion of a purchase order instead of the whole thing, making it easier to keep track of transactions and see up-to-date expenses and inventory.
With the new partial purchase order feature, you can:
- Know where you stand. The new Open Purchase Orders Detail report makes it easy to track how much of a purchase order has been received/paid for, and how much is outstanding.
- Link purchase orders to more than one bill/check/expense. Each linked transaction will appear below the status of the purchase order.
- Close individual lines on a purchase order. The Close column allows users to choose which lines of a purchase order they close and which remain open.
