Running an accounting firm can be tiring and extremely overwhelming, to say the least. The accounting work is not the hard part. It is everything else a small business requires to grow, including hiring and managing a team. We went to school to become accountants, not HR experts.

But here we are trying to wear all the hats. We want to make sure things are running smoothly, which is why in order for growth to happen, we must make sure to surround ourselves with the right solutions and the right relationships to ensure success.

Here’s the great news: You do not have to be an expert in HR if you have QBO Payroll. From posting a new open position to creating an employee handbook, they have created easy to use templates and resources to help you along the way.

You can even speak to an expert directly for those tough HR questions when you have the Payroll Elite subscription.

Job Descriptions Templates

The HR Center also offers pre-made templates for many job descriptions so no more DIY templates that take time and research to make. This was a lifesaver for our firm when looking for new employees.

Employee Handbook Templates

Having an employee handbook is vital to your business. It communicates the expectations you have to your employees and the culture of the company. In the HR center, you can access the wizard by following the steps below.

It will ask you a series of questions as it compiles a custom playbook for you. This will save you hundreds of dollars on having one written up for you by a professional and it only took a matter of minutes. Here is an example of the one I created:

Legal Compliance

You never want to find yourself in litigation because of something you did not understand or know. And if you hire remote workers like me, it is nearly impossible to stay up to date on every state’s guidelines. The Payroll HR center offers the most up-to-date information on state and federal wage and overtime laws. It also helps you with staying compliant with hiring, firing, and everything in between.

It is so nice knowing you are not alone when it comes to managing team members. There are more resources available with QBO Payroll if you want to check them out HERE.
